This week on the Healthcare Experience Matters Podcast, we are rebroadcasting our recent live webinar dedicated to HCAHPS and hosted by the Healthcare Experience Foundation coaching team.

This webinar offers essential insights for CEOs and Boards regarding the upcoming HCAHPS 2.0 changes and how to enhance patient care effectively in light of these changes.

During this conversation, we cover the most significant modifications to the survey that will be implemented in 2025. The webinar is co-hosted by Kim Bixler, HXF’s Vice President of Client Engagement, and Katie Owens, HXF’s President and co-founder.

After receiving strong feedback on our two popular HCAHPS 2.0 webinars earlier this year, we realized that a third round was necessary to explore additional topics. If you missed out on those previous broadcasts, you catch up by listening to Navigating The Important Future HCAHPS Survey Changes.

HCAHPS 2.0

HCAHPS 2.0 presents a unique opportunity to not only create momentum and revitalize your patient experience initiatives, but also provide valuable education and engagement of board members.

HCAHPS is one of the most visible (and understandable) community performance metrics and will be undergoing substantial changes.

This broadcast strives to help equip your Board, C-Suite, and leadership with information to contribute valuable perspectives, serve as an ambassador, and answer tough questions about care experiences.

In this skill-based webinar, listeners will be equipped to:

  • Keep Board Chairs and Members engaged in important patient experience policy changes.
  • Provide education on the changes we expect with HCAHPS 2.0.
  • Discuss ways CEOs and Board Chairs can adopt best practices to feel like positive contributors to patient experience excellence.

The Challenges, Opportunities

The session emphasized the upcoming modifications as not just challenges, but opportunities to enrich patient experience initiatives.

The discussion highlighted the introduction of new survey measures, promoting enhanced understanding of patient needs, such as effective communication about symptoms after discharge. Key shifts include redefining cleanliness to “restfulness” of the hospital environment and emphasizing teamwork and care coordination. Increased accountability and reporting guidelines are designed to cultivate a culture of safety and elevate quality care.

Our panelists also shared practical strategies for leveraging data to support quality care and improve patient loyalty. As the healthcare landscape evolves, these insights will be essential in driving successful outcomes for organizations navigating the transition to HCAHPS 2.0.

Learn More

This webinar was recorded earlier this month and was open to CEOs, Board Chairs and Board Members of organizations enthusiastic about patient experience excellence performance best practices.

We are excited to share this re-broadcast with our podcast listeners in its unabridged version that had been repurposed to deliver a friendly podcast listening experience. We hope you follow our podcast on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Podcasts to listen to on the go!
